If you are having issues with your tablet updating to the latest version, this will be very helpful.

If you have attempted to update via the Perfect Stitch app and it does not let you update and you are in version 5.1.9, then follow these steps to get the latest version. Once you update this way, you should never have to do this again and you can update through the app itself from now on.


The following are general directions that apply to all tablets, so some details are omitted for simplicity and generalization.

  1. Obtain a copy of the Android software package from a dealer or Quilt EZ and download it to your tablet.
  2. If you have patterns that are on the tablet see here to backup your patterns.
  3. Uninstall the Perfect Stitch app.
  4. Go to where you downloaded the "PerfectStitch.apk" file and open it (usually this is the 'Download' folder). Android will prompt you through the installation.
  5. Open the Perfect Stitch app. 
  6. It will ask for a serial number, which you should enter the serial number on your product, or if you can't find it or it isn't legible, put "na".
  7. Select the machine type that matches your machine, or if not listed, select 'QEZ'. After a selection is highlighted, it may take up to 30 seconds for the system to finish setting up the app.
  8. Restore your patterns, if needed.
