USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. This article is not actively updated for correctness.

Updating is usually a simple automatic process when connected to wifi, but if you don't have that capability, then you can definitely perform an update (or downdate to go to previous versions) using this process.

* If you have a Quilt EZ Robot/Butler, then you should turn it off during this process.

1. Obtain a copy of the .md5 and .hex file that comprise the update from an official source (unverified sources may contain malware, bugs, or virus) such as a dealer or directly from Quilt EZ.

2. Copy those files onto a flash drive/USB stick and keep them in their own directory/folder.

3. Load them onto your display by plugging the flash drive in.

4. Tap "Update Machine" on the settings screen and navigate to the file and select the .hex file. Only the .hex file will be visible, but the system will automatically find the other file if it is in the same directory.

After tapping "Open" then the screen will return to its previous state and needs to be left alone until a status message comes up saying the update has completed. This should only take a minute or two. That's it!
